			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Why do people gain weight?  There are many reasons directly related to weight gain.  Obviously, there are medical issues and conditions that may have an impact.  Besides that, age is responsible.  That is one reason why you see people who are approaching their 40s were well into them start putting on weight around the abdomen, especially. This is particularly true for women who are menopausal as hormones are the culprit.  In addition to that, people in this age group need to reduce the amount of calories they intake as the body starts to change how it processes those calories into energy.</p>
<p>With that said, weight loss is very possible when someone changes his or her diet.  That means that he doesn&#8217;t have to starve, just change some ingredients. At this point, it is important for everyone to understand carbohydrates.  There are two types: simple and complex.<br />

Simple carbohydrates are easily digested.  They are found in fruits, dairy products, processed foods and refined foods.  Complex carbohydrates stay with the body longer as they are not easily digested. These can be found in vegetables, legumes, whole grains and brown rice.</p>
<p>Therefore, in order to <strong>lose weight without dieting</strong>, you should switch from foods that are refined (such as all foods made with white flour, and those that contain white sugar, as well as white rice) to brown rice, whole grain or whole wheat flour.  These will make you feel full longer.  In other words, you will not be hungry as often or as quickly.  This in turn can help you to reduce your calorie intake.  Furthermore, they supply the body with much more energy than their counterparts.</p>
<p>In addition to that, you should increase the amount of fruits you eat, choose low-fat dairy products, and work and a little bit of exercise, which could be in the form of walking a few times a week.</p>
<p>Everyone will have to agree that these changes are very small but be results will be immense.  In fact, not only will you lose some weight, you will not gain it back as is always the case with other diets.</p>

<p>Eating a balanced diet is the key to reaching your proper weight, help tone muscles and burn fat.  With that said, understanding nutrition and its effect on the body is essential.</p>

<p>Sugar is bad for you, unless it is in the form of natural sugar, like those found in fruits/vegetables. Besides that, decrease it as much as you can in order to get the most out of your muscle toning.</p>
<p>Salt is in all foods, and especially high in all prepackaged/prepared foods.  Too much salt can cause hypertension, not to mention that it causes water retention, which results in weight gain, or the inability to lose weight.</p>
<p>Fiber is excellent for the body as it helps it to evacuate waste.  Remember to drink lots of water when increasing fiber as it can cause constipation.  Water also helps remove toxins from the body and hydrates the skin, helping you to look younger.</p>
<p>If you avoid weight fluctuation, you are off to a good start.  It is extremely unhealthy to go up and down in weight.  By following a proper balanced diet you can lose weight and build muscle, when combined with some physical activity and sensible portions.</p>

<p>The above, combined with other factors such as the way in which the body processes calories can mean a significant increase in weight, unless one takes care of their diet by cutting down calories as well as exercising. Unfortunately, this is not always easy for many people to do.</p>
<p>This in turn causes them to start dieting. Dieting however is not always the solution. Proper diet is the solution. This means that in combination with other efforts, such as physical activity, reduction in overall calories and changing the way one eats can all help drop those extra pounds.<br />

For one thing, exercise is one of the main ways to lose weight. During physical activity, circulation increases in metabolism becomes stimulated.
